Bio

If you can imagine a white piece of playdough that has been molded and marbled with various other colors, then you can imagine me, Robyn Terry.  Each color that winds through the white playdough is a role I have played in my 50 years.  After working as a medical transcriptionist for well over 14 years, I decided to return to school in 2008.  I worked in various other positions with teenagers and children in the church setting for years, and felt led to continue that work with a degree in elementary education.  As a student teacher, I had the opportunity to work with four administrators, three grade levels, two schools, and numerous faculty and staff.  For the past eight years, I worked as a classroom teacher at Pearl Haskew Elementary School.  During my time there, I continued my professional growth and development activities which included Steven Covey's Leader in Me training, Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers' Academy, AMSTI training, and worked as the Leader in Me Facilitator for three years.  I am extremely excited to be a member of the Hankins Middle School team of teachers this year.  Each and every year I strive to discover new and innovating teaching methods, and seek additional training to assist both my students and faculty I work alongside. As I continue my journey here at Hankins, my goal is to continue as a lifelong learner through new and exciting opportunities and hopefully one day become an effective and productive administrator.
